“Ohigan” is a book of poems exploring the themes of change and transformation. The author, Aaron Fairchild, partnered with Alexa Ashley to create the overall vision, cover design, and interior design for this collection.

Alexa Ashley worked with the illustrations of Yagmur Kuzay and the typeface Garamond to create a book design that feels inviting, timeless, and powerful. By using Garamond—with its slenderness taking less ink than most typefaces—Alexa infused some sustainability into the design to align with the values of the author and his naturalist-leaning poetry.
